Question

A projectile is launched horizontally with an initial velocity of 20.0m/s from a 80.m tall building.(ignore air resistance)
how many forces are acting upon the projectile after launch?
what is the acceleration along the vertical and horizontal directions after the launch?
what is the total time in flight?
what would be the range?
what is the final velocity right before it hits the ground?

I think I have most of the answers but the fact that there is no angle is throwing me off, is it just zero degrees? the only force acting on it is gravity correct? for time of flight I got 14.6s, the range I got 292m and I'm stuck on how to get the final velocity before it hits the ground.

Explanation / Answer

Vo=vox=20 m/s==>voy=0 m/s==>ay=g==>ax=0==>(80*2/9.8)4.041 s

range=vox*t=20*4.04180.82 m==>vyfinal=voy+g*t0+9.8*4.04139.602 m/s

v=(39.62+202)44.4 m/s==>final=tan-1(39.602/20)63.205o or 63.21o

total flight time=4.041 s

range=80.82 m

vfinal=44.4 m/s

=63.21o
