4) Given that frequency v = 4.7 x 1011 Hz

We know that c = v

c = velocity of light = 3 x 108 m/s

= wavelength

Hence,

   = c / v

=  3 x 108 m/s / 4.7 x 1011 Hz

= 0.64 x 10-3 m

=  0.64 x 10-3 x 106 / 106 m

= 0.64 x 106 x 10-9 m

=  0.64 x 106 nm [ 1 nm = 10-9 m ]

Therefore,

wavelength = 0.64 x 106 nm

Energy E = 3.18 x 10-19 J

We know that E = hv v = frequency, h = = planck's constant = 6.626 x 10-34 J.s

v = E/h

= 3.18 x 10-19 J/ 6.626 x 10-34 J.s

= 0.48 x 1015 Hz

Therefore,

frequency = 0.48 x 1015 Hz
