PLEASE SOLVE ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS BELOW. THANKS!
In this lab assignment you are asked to use built-in MATLAB functions. Please solve the following problems to get a full credit. Q1: [25ptsl On MATLAB's command window, perform the following calculations. 5+3 b) 5x6 d) 9 × + 7x5(3+2) e) 1 (5x 3/62)(22-4 x 1/5.5) 12 Q2: [25pts] Consider the barbell shown in the figure below a) Write a MATLAB script that finds the volume of the figure, if the radius of each sphere is 10 cm, the length of the bar connecting them is 15 cm, and the diameter of the bar is 1 cm. Assume that the bar is a simple cylinder b) Write a MATLAB script that finds the surface area of the figure Hint: You may search on the web for volume and surface formulas for a cylinder and a sphere Q3: [25pts] Chemical reaction rates are proportional to a rate constant k that changes with temperature (T) according to, k = koe-Q/RT For a certain reaction, Q = 8000 cal/mol, R = 1.987 cal/(mol × K), and ko = 1200 min-1. Find the values of k for temperatures from 100 K (Kelvin) to 500 K, in 50 K increments. Create a matrix of your results (rows indicate T values and columns indicate k values) Q4: [25ptsl MATLAB contains functions to calculate the natural logarithm (log), the logarithm to the base 10 (log10), and the logarithm to the base 2 (log2). However, if you want to find a logarithm to another base, for example, base b, you'll have to do the math yourself with the formula: loge (x) logb(x) = loge(b) Write a MATLAB script to create a NxN matrix which contains values of logb, (x) as b is defined from 2 to 11 in increments of 1 and x values are between 5 and 10 (including 5 and 10) containing linearly spaced 10 values. Note that while obtaining your final matrix please ensure that columns represent b values while rows represent x values Hint: You can fix a value of x and calculate the desired logarithm as b varies. After this operation you will have a lxN vector. Then calculate the desired logarithm for the next x value and so on. Finally, you will have N IxN vectors in which you are expected to merge these vectors into the final matrix format given in the questionExplanation / Answer
