Explanation / Answer

Greenhouse gases1, climate change and global warming: The increase in the emissions of the greenhouse gases have in turn influenced the global temperatures. This has disturbed the delicate balance of the climatic factors bringing disruptive changes to prevailing climatic patterns. Repercussions are clearly destructive: massive cyclones, twister, rapid rain storms and droughts2. All this directly affects the agricultural industry in addition to massive loss of property and life. Depletion of the agricultural products leads to food shortage, inflation and ultimately famines3. In a global perspective this is most significant environmental issue

Urbanization4 (Sound, air and sewage pollution): The increasing no of cities and conversions of rural areas due to urbanization has created multiple issues. The smoke and sound pollution created by the moving vehicles is an adverse effect which may lead to lung diseases, hearing problems and may even effect the infant growth developments. The sewages disposal is critical as mostly the wastes are dumped away, which may leach out to the groundwater or other water bodies polluting it5. As the urbanization and population in major cities are increasing the environment concerns are also increasing.

Over population: The human race increasing in much as exponential manner6 that it has become a serious threat to the planet. As more members are born each year, our limited natural resources are exploited to meet the demands of the masses. Mankind has made wonderful breakthroughs in the field of medical sciences eradicating many major diseases, infant deaths and progressing the life expectancy. However, with the increasing populations, more forest lands are being cultivated and converted into residential areas, over exploitation of the marine resources occur to provide adequate food for the people7. Unfortunately, most if our natural resources, like fresh water, fossil fuels and mineral resources, are limited and cannot be renewed. Countries need to develop specific projects to judiciously control the population and on the sustainable utilization of the limited resources.
