The experimenter conducted the research to observe the cause and effect relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable, ie, observing the effect of cognitive behavioural therapy on individuals with moderate depression. The experimenter in the above research randomly assigned 100 participants to two groups; experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was exposed to the intervention, whereas the control group was not provided with any intervention.
