NAFTA - North American free trade agreement that has eliminated trade fares or tariffs between Canada, Mexico and US. Bilateral trade negotiations were commenced between Canada, 30 years ago, and this resulted in the free trade agreement between Us and Canada. This was brought into action on 1st Jan 1994, and most of the tariffs were removed by 2008
TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the EU)- this is an agreement between EU and US, which was intended to promote multilateral economies and trade which is still under consideration.
TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership). A trade agreement which had been signed 18 months ago, though is still not implemented. 12 countries were involved in this agreement . It was aimed raising standards of living, enhancing innovation, job retention, environment and labor protection. President trump has announced that US would be withdrawn and this was agreed by other members in may 2017.
Global governance :
This is a movement in which many of the countries are involved such that they are involved in cooperation to negotiate or discuss solutions to problems that maybe common to one or more of the other states or more than one state. Global governance is important as it integrates countries to solve problems together. This creates a global phenomena of unity which is important to maintain.
US argued that countries like India and China, who pollute at a greater rate, would not require to put in much efforts and US would have to put in more efforts. Hence, the withdrawal from Paris convention.
