write a response to this passage
cg
Rationalism: " Which holds that knowledge is not derived from experience, but rather acquired by a priori processes or is innate (in the form of concepts) or intuitive." (Bagir, H, 2010)
Empiricism: " which emphasizes the role of experience, especially experience based on perceptual observations by the five senses in the formation of ideas, while discounting the notion of innate ideas. Refinements of this basic principle led to Phenomenalism, Positivism, Scientisim and Logical Positivism." (Bagir, H, 2010)
Rationalism and Empiricism are different because, Empiricism is experienced based on observations by the five senses. Rationalism is lack of experience.
The one I would pick would have to be Rationalism because, since I will be studying something new and not knowing anything about it I would be using Rationalism not knowing anything and learning as I go.
Explanation / Answer
I would disagree with the choice because I would assume that when one is inexperienced and unsure about a topic, it is best to rely on empiricism. Limited knowledge is dangerous as it quite possible that one may end up imposing false beliefs and assumptions. In such circumstances, one should be keenly observant of the information that the five senses are providing to us.
