Question

please answer any 1 question
1. How would you bias a BJT in a common emitter amplifier in order to minimize the Miller feedback capacitance
2. Explain how it is possible to identify the different current transport mechanisms that dominate the total current flowing through the pn junction. Why is this information is important to device engineers?

3. From a simple pn junction diode, predict the expected relative magnitudes of ac capacitances in a bipolar junction transistor under normal operating conditions(base emitter junction forward biased and base collector junction reverse biased).
Discuss the base emitter capacitance and base collector capacitance

Explanation / Answer

1)the expression for miller capacitance is given by Cm   =   C ( 1 + Av )

since C is a device parameter it cannot be changed

so the only way of decrasing miller capacitane is by decreasing the gain

Av = gm (Rc || Rl)

if u need only small gain then u can use emitter resistance   which makes gain very less
