4) 28 water molecules

To break the bond between 2 molecules we need 1 water molecule. when the number of molecules increases the formula for Number of water molecule = Number of molecules in chain - 1.

5) Hydrolysis reaction

Hydrolysis reaction is the reaction in which water is used to break the bond between two molecule. In the above question a polymer is breaking down into its monomeric subunits.

Whiile dehydration synthetic reaction is completely reverse of Hydrolysis. It involves the addition of two molecules by the removal of one water molecule.
