On September 9th, his hand had swollen ta twice its normal size. On September 3d, the boy had been scratched and bitten by a cat. The bite on the boy's hand had large amounts of pus extruding from the wound. His parents took him to the hospital where the doctors drained the pus from the wound and gave the boy antibiotics.
