Question

I attended a meeting where a new medical information company was talking about putting a chip in a person's arm, somewhat like we do for identification in our pets. This chip would contain all our healthcare information and could be update remotely from your computer. Now this company was going to give the machines that read these chips for free to hospitals, doctor's offices, emergency responders, etc. The way they would make money is the person wearing the chip would pay a monthly fee to keep it active and current. This company was going to implement this is Sarasota a couple of years ago. Nothing really came from this implementation as yet.

What do you think of this type of medical record storage?

Explanation / Answer

The microchip can give following advantages:

-Identification

-Easy Memberships

-Infant and elder security

-Tracking in Child abductions

-Health information accessibility

-Theft deterrence

-Criminal supervision

-Law enforcement and gun control

There are various benefits to this method, but as technology changes day by day, this would need upgrading and may help in solving the problem of carrying a wallet completely.
