Since the art & science of weather forecasting is a whole course (or series of courses) in itself, I will not ask you to do any type of weather prediction. However, I would like you to critique the weather predictions made by two weather forecasters of your choice.

Sometime during the early part of the week,

1. Record the two weather forecaster names & organizations (or simply the organizations) of your choice.

2. Record the weather forecasts or outlooks for the next four days. The minimum predicted weather elements should include air temperature, winds, and sky condition, (and precipitation if expected).

3. Conduct a verification analysis of the forecasts. It can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it, but include enough detail to show what you have learned in this course.

4. Report on how accurate you believe the two forecasts were.

In your report, comment on the following:

   - Were the forecasts the same? If different, how much of a difference was there?

   - Was one significantly better than the other?

   - Was the three-day forecast as accurate as the one-day forecast?

   - Has your confidence level in weather forecasts increased, decreased, or stayed the

      same? Explain.

(Be sure to include the proper units for all weather elements you mention in this report).

Two weather forecaster names are Harold Noyes and Lewis Fry Richardson and George Cowling and two weather organizations are National Weather Services and European Centre for Medium –Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF)

2)   Weather forecasting is to predict the atmosphere for a given location for upcoming few days it might be true or wrong depending on the basis of study of several parameters which may include quantitative data analysis (statistical) about the current state of the atmosphere -- No particular region given to forecast upcoming four day weather forecast.

3)   It’s very important to understand the chaotic behavior of weather forecasting variable to make more accurate weather predictions. Initially it was done by observations of the skies both during the day and at night time and with it is improved with several mathematical model as well as computational models with the advancement of technology. Weather forecasting is subjective parameter which is done by comparing the quality of weather which was forecasted with the present weather. Different forecasters using different verification approach depending on their forecasting methods and approach.

4)   Weather forecast by two climatologists is totally depending on their data interpretation which was collected to make a better model to predict weather. So it might be different BUT not an easy task to say how much before. Depending on the accuracy in data collection and methods which were taken in interpretation. So yes it might be different of two weather forecast model developed by two different meteorologists.

5)   Yes it might be accurate as the three-day forecast as accurate as the one-day forecast
