bohr's model predicted that elctrons orbit nucleus in orbits with fixed energy and thus fixed angular momentum . this implies they can not remain in an inbetween state and must occupy on e orbit or the other . as the transition takes place between finite states , the energy releasesd thus is in dicrete packets(according to plank's theory) which produces fine line sin the spectrum.
