It has previously been established that employment that is based on sex, religion, color, national origin or race is illegal and discriminatory. The question however, is whether the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures has ensured equal employment for all Americans (Eeoc.gov, 2015). According to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the purpose of Uniform Guidelines is to prevent or reduce discrimination in employment and to ensure every person has an equal opportunity when it comes to test, selection procedures or any other employment decision. In any organization that is competitive, strategic staffing is an important aspect of human resource that involve performance appraisal, employment testing, recruitment and retention, all with an aim of ensuring only the right employees with the necessary skills are hired (Windham, 2015).

Yes to reduce the discrimination the Uniform guidelines has been really effective policy implemented by government. Uniform guidelines also ensure that best candidate for the specific designation or position shall be selected, be in regular job or any strategic job.
It is up to the employer to set the test or procedure for selection, the Uniform guidelines is there to ensure that there is no discrimination based on sex, religion, color, national origin or race. They do not say or talk about the reservation of any nature for any of the group. Uniform guidelines are in place to ensure fair, transparent and equal opportunity are provided to different sector of people.
