Explanation / Answer

1) Speaking "on behalf of the company" and speaking "about" the company -

Speaking "on behalf of the company" means, speaking as a representative in the support of the company. Speaking "about" the company means, sharing the company information to the third party.

Speaking on behalf is always a positive act. Speaking about could be either a positive act or a negative act.

2) Public setting means being available to public, which is open and can be viewed by anybody. All the online activities which are visible to public has public settings.

The online activities on the public social networking websites constitute a public setting. As per the Coca Cola's policy, the employees are responsible to maintain code of conduct in all the public media and online social networking media.

3) I agree with the statement, "employees are responsible for any post that can potentially tarnish the company's image". It is always the employees who tarnish the company's image. Anything that happens in the company stays in the company unless some one from the company spells out any mishappening. So, anything that happens to tarnish the image of the company happens only by employees.

4) In the coca-cola's social media policy, to be a scout means, being a person who could bring in the best of the information about the competitor by being a spy.

5) Any online conversation which is in the best interest of the company is considered appropriate. Any conversation which is against the company, or which is abusive in nature, any information which is not considered public is inappropriate.

6) Speaking against the company, speaking of the flaws of the company, or expressing the serious concerns of the company or disclosing confidential or non public information about the company, or bringing negatives of the company are some of the counters to the Coca Cola's interests.
