Yes their has been a big debate regarding the usage of cellphones in the offices its advisable and incorrect to use cellphone in the office for personal use as this reduces the employee productivity and the projects get delayed because of the negligence. Employees are stringent to use the cellphone whereas the company are against it because their is no seriousness during the office working hours. In my opinion cellphones shall be allowed during the lunch hours and the breaktime. Its true that the fellow colleagues get disturbed while they are doing the office work. The employees want to use the phone whereas the company does not allow to use the phone during the official working hours.
The law is in favour with company and does not allow to use the cell phones during the official work hours.
Their can be severe problems disturbance,lack of concentration, Unnecessary gossip,Mismanagement,No seriousness during the work.
It becomes a problem when their is a serious meeting going on and the visitors walking into you offices, When somebody is doing serious work and when the deadline for the project submission is near.
It becomes beneficial when somebody gets the good news it may be personal or official.
