Whether you’re thinking about having a drink and driving home, gathering marketing intelligence, designing a product, hiring or firing employees, getting rid of industrial waste, or using a questionable nickname for an employee, think about the legal implications. This is the most basic question in business ethics, but it is only the first.
Explanation / Answer
1.
There is a situation where I am a sales executive. My responsibility is to sell company products to corporates. At present, I am in meeting with purchase manager of one of the corporate. Purchase manager is ready to buy my products but asks for a bribe. Now, it represents a dilemma w.r.t. the ethical conduct that says no to any kind of bribe.

There are three different actions what I can take.

Consequences of each action will be s following:
For action a
I will be feeling moral guilty and it will change my attitude towards work. Later on, I can loose my motivation to work also.
For action b
Company sales will come down and my role will be scrutinized. My job can also be put in danger.
For action c
It is not guaranteed that I will not face the same situation in other jobs also. Thus, I will become disillusioned about new jobs and my career will be in jeopardy.
4.
I will buy time from that purchase manager and discuss the case with my supervisor. With the help of supervisor, a customized sales offering will be made to the company concerned that will simultaneously benefit purchase manager also. Thus, he will also be profited.
