Question
As an IT leader, you work incessantly to make sure your IT strategy aligns with the business strategy. This means that business leaders get together to define the business strategy; IT then formulates its strategy to support the business strategy. This is how the traditional model works. The traditional model is very much like the waterfall system’s development life cycle. However, as a business, consider the increasing pressure to respond to market demands, get new products to market, enter global markets, etc. In an environment such as this, the business strategy is not static; it is constantly evolving. As an IT leader, how do you move beyond business-IT alignment? Support your assertions with source material, if applicable, providing the full URL if the source was found on the Web, or author, title, year, and journal name if found through a library search. Write a descriptive subject line for your initial post (not the unit or Discussion number or your name; it is important to label content), and remember to use appropriate formal writing skills.
