The rationale behind my selection is as discussed below:
Manufacturing company has a complex structure as there are different departments in the company like production, research and development, engineering, sales and marketing, logistic, procurement etc. which are involved in the manufacturing of the finished products from raw material.
1. Enterprise System: To handle this complexity, an enterprise system is a must which can support different business processes, reporting, information flow, data analytics on the data etc. This is mainly used in any organization to automate all the process by setting the process flow. The process flow is initially decided by the department heads and the automation of this flow helps the management to ease their task and remove the redundancy. Hence, I feel that this is one of the most important systems that need to be included in a complex organization like a manufacturing company.
2. Management Information System: MIS is used to generate the reports at a regular interval of time at each level of the management in a company. These reports are very helpful in analyzing the business as a whole and help the management to take the important decision to grow the business, set a target for the next interval etc. This is mainly helpful to the management as the reports are needed by the management to analyze the data in a best way which could even provide them the insights about the business as a whole.
