The company is concerned because some of the managers are having success building self-directed, high-performing teams while others are not. A discussion occurred that identified the characteristics of the successful team building elements and compared them to those managers that have not been successful. This is a situation where those who are struggling need to learn from those who are doing well. The discussions included identifying what could be going wrong and what steps might be taken for success.
You have been asked to write a research report that summarizes the meeting and offers some recommendations that might be helpful to those managers who are struggling. Specifically, your report must include:

1- Recommendations for success
In an organization, a team requires a manager who is aware of his leadership skills and techniques. Here are few recommendations for managers in order to build self directed, high performing teams.
1- A manager needs to consider each member's ideas valuable and useful. All team members will feel encouraged and enthusiastic if their ideas would be found valuable by the manager.
2- A manager should always try to build healthy relationship with and between the employees. The manager should observe how the team work together and try top improve cooperation and communication with others.
3- Once the manager establishes relations with and among team members, he should focus on the effective working skills of the team. The manager should always encourage employees to share information and also try to communicate more with them. This can be done through meetings which include suggestions and concerns about each team members work.
4- It is mandatory for a perfect manager to set some rules for the entire team. It is manager's duty to create team values and goals. The manager should also evaluate the team's performance from time to time in order to perfectly complte the organization's goals.
2- Guiding plan for struggling managers
The main functions of a manager includes planning, organizing, leading and coordinating several activities of the organization. To be a successful manager, a person needs to identify goals, methods, objectives and resources to carry out responsibilities of the team and organization. A manager is responsible to manage various departments, human resources etc.
Leadership is the quality which is essential to be a successful manager. The manager who possess leadership qualities set goals for the organization, team and individuals and also make efforts to follow them. Struggling managers require to learn all these skills for making an effective team. They need to motivate their teams and coordinate with them. By following these simple steps, struggling manager can also be a successful manager of an organization.
