Situational leadership defines that the best leadership technique or best way to lead a group of people is according to the situation in which group prevails. Situational theory of leadership is does not simply determines the goals and objectives of the organization but it defines the ways and ideas to achieve those objectives and goals, in a situational leadership a leader changes its ways to lead people simply according to the situation thus it is known as situational theory of leadership.
With the help of situational theory of leadership, a leader can keep its employees safe in many ways like safe from work hazards, can provide job security etc.
Situational leadership helps employees act as an interdependent parts of the groups, they integrate rules, roles and way of working with each other. They respect the authority of their own as well as the authority and responsibility of others as well. Leaders try to provide a sense of belongingness in the minds of team mates by recognizing their work, giving attention to their roles and responsibility, giving them credit for their work, working with them with full dignity and respect.
Situational theory of leadership does not encourage the expression” telling or directing ‘’ more to that it says “ask and do together ‘’. It focus high on relationship focused behaviours which further drives the performance of the employees to an upgraded level. It coaches team members in order to complete a task or to complete a project with full efficiency and efficiently.
