Thefinancial analysis department has developed the followingmathematical model for sales: S= 5+ t/52 - 4 cos t/26 where S represents sales in millions of dollars for a week ofsales t weeks after January 1. (A) Graph this function for a 3 yr period starting January1. (B) What are the sales for the 26th week in the third year(tothree significant digits)? (C) What are the sales for the 52nd week in the third year( toone significant digit)? please help me A large soft drink company's sales vary seasonally, butoverall the company is also experiencing a steady growth rate. (C) What are the sales for the 52nd week in the third year( toone significant digit)?Explanation / Answer
for the cos section, you should realize that it has anamplitude of 4, now you have to figure out at which time tyou hit that amplitude and the time where you hit zero aswell. then on the same graph, follow that time t up to that lineyou drew earlier, and count out the amplitude vertically 4 units whent the t causes the max amplitude, then opposite for theminimum, and plot a point on that line when the amplitude iszero
for B) all you have to do is plug the time in; but it'll beweek 3 years +3 so..... 52*3+3 is your t
for C) it's the same kind athing as B; you go52weeks*3years+52 weeks=t; this is actually 4 years
