This article is all about highlighting the major benefits and disadvantages that e-business brings to the forefront. E-business basically is the business process, which gets the traders and consumers interact, through the Internet. So, this article tries to talk about the integration of business stakeholders over the Internet. Initially I used to think that e-business and e-commerce is one and the same thing. But this article clearly highlighted the difference between the two. E-commerce is basically a subset of e-business in which the trading gets characterized for trading goods online for money. Some also consider e-commerce as the last phase of e-business, so they can’t be considered as a whole unit. Another aspect of e-business is affiliate marketing. I used to ponder upon the roots of affiliate marketing. It can be inferred that affiliate marketing is a clear result of e-business. Affiliate marketing highlights the options available to the customer for a particular product segment. Affiliate marketing does not benefit only the consumers. Affiliate marketing can be considered as the most cost effective marketing and promotional tool, used by firms for strategic product placement in the market. The most critical disadvantage of e-business is its inclination towards cyber attacks and the fear of data security. The companies need to come up with effective strategies to combat the probability of such attacks. This must be done way before integrating the concept of e-business in the company.
