Question

A constant force of 40.7 N, directed at 27.5o from horizontal, pulls a mass of 11.7 kg horizontally a distance of 2.69 m. Calculate the work done by the force. Possible useful data (Is this in fact needed?): the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.15, the coefficient of static friction is 0.2

Explanation / Answer

W = fs cos theta ,

W = 40.7*2.69* cos 27.5

W = 97.1126 J

As , the force is able to move the block (as it is said , it moves by 2.69 m)..and we need to calculate the work done by the force only. so we dont need any other information.
