A systems analyst junior in my organization just took a course in the Agile development. He liked the new approach and he really wanted to know how to decide which approach to follow for Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). He was debating whether it is better to use Waterfall or Agile for big projects. His thinking was that Agile should be used for big projects with non-sequential product development and for projects that are often prone to change in requirements and cost. Is he right? Minimum words should be 200 with APA Format style.

In the agile method, changes are given very much priority. So, changes can be made very easily. The cost of these changes reduces because the changes are made periodically and new increments are very less. Implementing new features is done very easily, developers will loose only a few days work while implementing new features.

Agile model believes that the end users requirements are ever changing. So, in this model, unlike waterfall model, very limited planning is required to set off as it would be continuously changing. The developers find they got more free time and options, unlike the rigid sequential way where the developer got no/fewer options. However, if the client is not clear with the requirements the project can easily go off track and reach a standstill position.
