Ans: The decimal notation of representing the classes of IPv4 addresses is a 32 bit address, represented in the form of 4 octets. The decimals are used to separate these octets. Some of these octets represent the class and some other represent the host.
Example: In class A, the first octet indicate that it belongs to class A and provide the network address of class A and the remaininf three octets indicate the host address of the network hosts.
