Knowledge Management comprises a range of practices used by organizations to identify, create, represent, and distribute knowledge for reuse, awareness, and learning across the organizations. Knowledge is often defined as a “justified personal belief.” There are many taxonomies that specify various kinds of knowledge. Some knowledge is embedded in business processes, activities, and relationships that have been created over time through the implementation of a continuing series of improvements.
Being the student of this course, you are required to recall the SECI process of knowledge conversion and answer the following questions:

Explanation / Answer
I will be briefly talking about the SECI model of knowledge creation from a perspective of an organization.
SECI model describes 4 types of knowledge generations processes relating to & linking tacit knowledge & explicit knowledge which are:
Socialisation:
In this stage, tacit knowledge is linked to tacit knowledge for knowledge creation. An organisation can conducts meetings, discussions to allow for sharing of experiences of employees (tacit knowledge) to create any new knowledge out of the given information. An example could be employees learning the looking at their superiors' experiences.
Externalisation:
In this stage, tacit knowledge is linked to explicit knowledge creation. An organisation can share its information(tacit knowledge) with other organisation sharing their's(tacit knowledge) to generate new knowledge(explicit knowledge). One example can be, software engineers of a firm using their experience to solve the complicated algorithmic problems.
Combination:
In this stage, explicit knowledge is linked to explicit knowledge creation. An organisation collecting information from its employees, customers, departments to build a new knowledge database. an example could be, finance department collecting finance reports from all the departments and consolidating them to publish the annual reports of an organisation.
Internalisation:
In this stage, explicit knowledge is linked to tacit knowledge creation. An organization using the explicit knowledge available to develop competencies for its employees. this can be related to training programs organised by the organisation for the development of its employees. examples of this can be that- employees reading, completing courses, enhancing skills to enrich his value and knowledge.
