Explanation / Answer

r.     Yes, it is allowed to include a YIELD or STOP sign on the Crossbuck Assembly sign support. YIELD or STOP sign can be installed on the same support as the Crossbuck sign or it can also be installed on a separate support at or near the point where the highway vehicles stop. For both the cases, YIELD or STOP sign is assumed to be the part of Crossbuck Assembly.

s.     The approximate upstream distance from a stop bar to a gate at railroad crossing = 60 m (200 feet).

t.      Two application descriptions for when the Bicycles May Use Full Lane (R4-11) sign out can be used are as follows:

i) The Bicycles May Use Full Lane (R4-11) sign out can be used on roads where no separate bicycle lanes or adjacent shoulders are available and travel lanes are also quite narrow for bicyclists and motor vehicles to move simultaneously.

ii) The Bicycles May Use Full Lane (R4-11) sign out can also be used in certain locations to inform the road users that bicyclists can occupy the travel lane.

u.     TCD (Traffic Control Devices) can be defined as signs, signals, markings and all the other devices that can be utilised to guide or regulate traffic. These devices are generally placed on the street or adjacent to a street, highway, pedestrian roads, bikeways etc. by authority of a public agency.

v.     Public road within the MUTCD includes toll roads, parking lots, sport arenas, airports, roads in shopping centers and other similar places that may even be privately owned but where public is allowed to travel without any restrictions. Roads within gated private roads and gated toll roads are not included in the definition of public roads.
