1. The light first encounters cornea which is a membrane on iris and pupil of the eye. The light then passes through pupil which is the colored middle portion of the eye and pupil controls the amount of light enters the eyes. The light enters the lens and the lens produces a real, inverted image on the retina. Retina consists of photoreceptors which sense light and it sends to the optic nerve at the back of the eye. The optic nerve sends the impulses to the brain where the inverted image is again inverted to produce an erect image.
