Alternatively, technology can be used offensively by creating technological disruption in the industry through creation of products which are augmented, new and are superior to the products already in the market.
2. Innovative technology insulation and an inward looking orientation is a poor competitive strategy stance because it is defensive in nature and is targeted towards maintaining the organization's revenues rather than creating an outward looking orientation which works towards identifying ways to gain maximum market share and increase the organization's revenues through disruptive techniques. Characteristics of a proactive competitive strategy stance are quick market and customer response rate, building technology at a faster pace and building core competency which is difficult for competitors to imitate.
3. Size of a firm's R&D Department is determined by the vision and values of the organization which in turn decide the rate at which organization needs to grow and develop products so as to achieve its goals and be in line with the vision.
4. Experience leads to a better judgement and correct approach which is already tried and tested. Hence experience is extremely important to determine the capabilities of the organization, how much is it possible to achieve for the organization and what should the technological strategy of the organization be in order to achieve its goals and targets.
