Question
The Turing Test, developed by Allan Turing in 1950, was a test to see if people would be able to distinguish between the online conversations they have with a human vs artificial intelligence. This test was administered by allowing someone to ask questions on a computer and analyze the answer to determine if the one giving answers was a real human or artificial. In my opinion I do not think that this test is sufficient to measure if a machine is genuinely intelligent. I think that this because there are many things that make up intelligence in my opinion. These examples include, emotional reasoning, experience, as well as intuition. This test may make it difficult to distinguish the difference between having a conversation with a human or a machine, however it does not prove any other forms of intelligence that are crucial. One specific example would be the case of emergencies. If someone is forced to make a life changing decision, like surgeons and officers, they have to think about all different aspects of life that their decision would make, not only logical ones that a machine would find more fit.
Raise three critical questions that in some way analyze or challenge aspects of each persons position.
Explanation / Answer
In artifical intelligence the Turing test,is a method for determining whether or not a computer is capable of thinking like humans. He felt a human evaluator would judge natural language between a human and a machine for human like responses.however today we are dependant in all fields to give us information. If we considered surgeons, there is a possiblity that the computer could suggest ideas to carry out the surgery. . If they were to operate, based on the knowldege the surgeon will make a decison how,but he could take the help as to the best approach he can do it.This does not require any emotion to carry out this process. If the program has not be installed in the monitor then they will not avail that informtion. Many robotic surgeries are being performed today. The machines use simple language . Like a human the machine retains information and unlike humans no problems about memory load or memory loss or fatigue.
