1. Two important nwuroglia are;

i. Astrocytes: These are star shaped cells found within central nervous system. Being star shaped they have small projections and by these projections these cells connect neurons with blood supply maintaining blood brain barrier.

ii. Ependymal cells: These are cuboid all columnar ciliated cells located within ventricles and central canal of spinal cord. These cells form a specialized structure, choroid plexus in ventricles which secretes cerebrospinal fluid.

The basal membrane of ependymal cells bears small tentacles by which they make attachment with astrocytes. Apical surface of these cells bear cilia and micro villi by which they circulate and absorb CSF.
