We will you the first letter of these 5 people only for our analysis. So D,M,C,R and J are five people outof which we have to select two people for conference

1) To Determine the same space you need to know all the combinations so there are 5C2 /2! (2! added because of repetition as we are indiffrenet between choice as DM or MD ) so there are total 10 possibilities .

Let's work them out. You just need to randomly pick 2 at a time from the sample without repetition.

So they are DM,DC,DR,DJ,MC,MR,MJ,CR,RJ,RJ these are total 10 possible outcomes . ans is (D)

2) probability that C and R attend the conference so it's =1(marked in underline above)/sample space = 1/10 =0.1 or 10%

3)What is the probability that R attends the conference

So let's see in howmany obesrvations R is there in the above space i.e 4 (in bold) and so prob = 4/sample space =4/10 =0.4 or 40%
