This is course of evolution and adaptation mostly predator animals have this type of vision
On the otherhand lateral eyes have a advantage of having a large paripheral vision. They can accomodate large area. This type of vision is basically for prey so that they can detect the risk nearby their large surrounding area to know about if predators is present. This vision is in grazing animals like goat deer etc.
