Utilitarianism
The central idea of utilitarianism is based on the process of existence for a greater good. Mainly, this ethical theory idealizes to maximize the good for the most people rather than focusing on the negatives or bad of people. The moral worth of any action is judged by how much good is achieved by the end result and what the society perceives as good. In conclusion, utilitarianism holds that the conduct may still be ethical if it does more good for a greater number of people than it harms.
Egoism
Egoism is sometimes also known as ethical egoism. It is built on the central idea that moral conduct is to be evaluated by the process of self-interest. Egoism states that the superior outcomes for the individual agent outweigh the outcomes placed upon others. In egoism, actions could be considered ethical for the individual if the one taking the action is benefited, while any benefit or detriment to the welfare of others is a side effect and not as important as the consequences for the individual. It does not consider whether it is good for the society.
