The most important function of the DNA is to carry the genes. These genes have information that specifies all the proteins that make up an organism. These genes have the information about when, in what type of cells and in what quantity each protein is to be made.
Let us take bacteria and arechaea to understand the difference in DNA organization. Arechaea have histone proteins associated with their DNA as the human do whereas bacteria do not have that. Both of these have different ribosomal RNA. Arechaea have three RNA polymerase like eukaryotes but bacteria have one only.
