Question
The problem states:
"A 400N weight is supported by a 1.6 meter, uniform beam on a nautilus machine attached to a hinge. An athlete applies a vertical force F, at the end of the beam as shown below. If the beam's mass is 20kg and the system is in static equilibrium;
a) draw a free body diagram for the beam (please advise what to draw & in what direction)
b) determine the applied force (F)
c) determine the x and y components of the reaction force at the hinge (we use "Rx" and "Ry" components"
The attached diagram shows a beam of 1.6 meters that is hinged on the left side. It is at a 40 degree angle up (being held upright by a man seated on the right side) An upward Force is drawn in at the right end of the beam above where the man is holding it. There is a 400N weight hanging down from the beam at 1.2 meters (from left side to right side)
***Please provide all steps/formulas used to provide a clear explanation of how each answer is found. Thank you!
Explanation / Answer
Please I cannot upload the figure at this time but the description is there so do yoyr best to help me..What are the components of the reaction forces Rx and Ry. Thank you.
