The problem is:

y2 (1-2y) (2+3y)

 

I need to write this problem as a trinomial.  I believe that my biggest hang-up is with the 

stupid +/- , not knowing which one to use where.  (Yah, I know... stupidly easy. But...)

I keep doing the problem over and over the way that I've been doing the other problems up 

to this point but this time something is off and I get a very wrong answer.

 

Vould you helvp vme?   I need to be able to understand it enough that I can make sure that 

I'm doing all my other problems right also...

I think there may be a y missing from the (2+3) but from what I see, here's what to do.
So we start with the equation: y2 * (1-2y) * (2+3) or just, y2(1-2y)(2+3)

From there, we can take (2+3) to get 5 and so we get: y2(1-2y)(5)

Then we can ignore the y^2 for now, and multiply out (1-2y)(5) to get (5-10y)

Then we bring back the y^2 to get y2(5-10y).

When we multiply that out we get 5y2-10y3

Or to put it in terms where the highest power comes first, we get

-10y3 + 5y2
