Question

With respect to earth, an object, A, is moving at speed 90.0 m/s to the right. Object B
is moving to the left at speed 70.0 m/s with respect to object A. (a) How fast, and in
what direction, is object B moving with respect to earth? (b) Show that the classical
solution to this problem is not different from the relativistic solution. (c) Now
assume that, with respect to earth, object, A, is moving at speed 0.90 c to the right and
Object B is moving to the left at speed 0.70 c with respect to object A. How fast, and
in what direction, is object B moving with respect to earth?

Explanation / Answer

Vb = Va + Va/b

Va = Vb + Vb/a

V = 90 - 70

Vb = 20m/s right
