Ben is being chased through the woods by a moose he was attempting to photograph. If Ben makes a zigzag pattern through the trees, he will be able to use the large mass of the moose to his own advantage. Explain this in terms of Newton's First Law of Motion: (3 pts] The moose hos a bi s mass, which makes For t to move. a vder more inerta, which Mensit haroerExplanation / Answer
1. Newtons first law of motion states that if a body is in uniform motion or at rest , it will continue to be in uniform motion or at rest untill or unless an external force is acted upon it . For example if no other forces are acting , if we throw a ball it will move in uniform motion until an external force acts on it.
2. Newtons second law of motion states that the force acting on a body is equal to the rate of change of momentum.
F =d(mv)/dt
F=mdv/dt as m is constant
F=ma as dv/dt is acceleration
