Question

The picture shows too identical circular wire loops with their areas facing each other The loop on the left has a battery in it as shown. so there is a steady constant current flowing through it The loop the right has no battery in it Answer the following questions (remember, gist an evplanatioa for each answer, add directions of current! and magnetic fields to the drawing as neccssary. or male separate drawings) Is there a magnetic flux through the loop on the right? Is there a current in the loop on the right? Supposing I cut the wire of the left loop to current docs not flow through it What happens in the right loop? Why?

Explanation / Answer

a) There is a flux through the right loop. This is just a circuit with two junctions.
b) There is current through the loop on the right, however it is half of the initial current put out by the battery. The current gets split when it goes through a junction, according to Kirchoff's law. c) If the left loop were cut, there would be no current in the right loop since the circuit would not be completed.
