Weight of rifle W = 20 N

Mass of rifle M = W / g = 2.04 kg

Mass of bullet m = 5 g = 5 * 10 ^ -3 kg

Speed of bullet v = 270 m / s

(a). from law of conservation of momentum , MV =mv      In magnitude

So, speed of the rifle V = mv / M

                                   =0.6615 m /s

(b). weight of person W ‘ = 750 N

Mass of person M ‘ = 750 / g = 76.53 kg

So, recoil speed V ‘ = mv / ( M + M ‘ )

                                = 0.01718 m / s
