Explanation / Answer

1) Bedding in Moenkopi formation mainly comprises of Mudstones, sandstones and many ripple marks and trace fossils as well.This formation existed initially in dry conditions but later there due to climatic changes it got wetter it led to the formation of ripples.

2)The polygonal shaped mud cracks are generally formed when the cohesive sediments such as mud, silt and clay dries and shrinks due to heat.It shows extreme temperature variations in the area which resulted in the formation of these dry mud cracks.
