Question
A particle of mass m_1 collides with a particle of mass m_2 initially moving at a right angles to it,
Calculate the final velocities of each particle, and the angles at which the particles leave the collision site (as measured with respect to the original direction of m_1) assuming that the coefficient of restitution is = 0.4,
m_1 = 3 kg,
m_2 = 2 kg, and the initial speeds of the particles are
v_1_i = 2 m/s and
v_2_i = 3 m/s,

Explanation / Answer
step;1
Given that
mass m1=3 kg
mass m2=2 kg
initial velocity u1=2 m/s
initial velocity u2=3 m/s
now we find the finial velocity of each mass
velocity V1={(3-0.4*2)2/5}+((1+0.5)*2*3/5}=0.88+1.8=2.7 m/s
velocity V2={3*1.5*2/5}+{(2-3)*3/5}=1.8-0.6=1.2 m/s
