2. Two methods of mining coal are modern surface mining and strip mining. In modern surface mining involves extracting coal when it is near the surface with an open cut. This method may destroy local habitats and natural niches such as burrows and other pathways animals seek refuge in. Strip mining basically involves removing the overburden that's on top of the coal which allows miners to gain access to it. This method impacts the environment because it usually goes far deeper than just the top soil layer and thus may inhibit plant growth in that area for a long time as all of the nutrients are being moved else where due to mining and thus disrupting the ecosystem.
3. The main reason women in developing countries have higher TFR than women in developed countries is due to the lack of birth control and education. Women from developing countries are much more likely to engage in unprotected sex which would have a higher chance of leading to a pregnancy than women in developed countries who have access to birth control and the knowledge on how to prevent a pregnancy. Culture also plays a big role as well. In some countries women are simply much more encouraged to have children than they would be in other countries such as China.
4. The coral reef faces four important dangers, climate change, pollution, over fishing, and human contact. Climate change alters the crucial temperature at which organisms thrive in and thus some may or may not be able to survive for very long in abrupt changes. Pollution poisons the creatures living in the reef and intoxicates them with substances they could not survive in such as gasoline and possibly even radioactive material being dumped. Over fishing also destroys the fauna and leads to an imbalance in the reefs natural food chain. Lastly human contact such as anchor drops and animal contact disrupts the balance of the reef serverly whether intentional or not.
5. The Mississippi in US has become polluted due to trash waste, nitrogen, and phosphorus. These are all man made sources which have turned this river to be one of the most polluted in the entire country. The Rhine River's source of pollution comes from chemical factory fires, trash, as well abnormal amounts of toxic metals. All of these have contributed to the overall toxic levels of hazardous materials in the river's water.
Hope this helps, best of luck.
