True story! I found an advertisement listed in the October 2013 issue of the magazine. Natural Awakenings. The article was about a man named, Braco, from Croatia. Braco makes no claim to the efficacy of his "gift" but he travels around the world gazing at people. The people claim that his gaze transforms their lives, heals, and they are "happier" after the gazing experience. You can find more information about Braco at, www.braco.me. Design an experiment to test the following hypothesis: You must include the following: Dependent variable Independent variable At least 4 standardized variables At least 2 appropriate controls Be detailed about your design, all of your variables and how you would measure your variables! Dependent variable in a scientific study is defined as the variable that is measured. Independent variable is defined as the one which is deliberately altered during the course of study. Standardized variables are those variables that are maintained constant during the variations done in independent variables. Appropriate controls are added to avoid the effect of confounding factors.
Hypothesis: Braco's gaze increases vitality in humans
Study design: The objective of the study is to determine wheather Braco's gaze increases the vitality in humans. To test this hypothesis we will formulate a case control study. The vitality in humans is defined as increased in the level of happiness as a result of Braco's gaze. It can be either decreased stress, increased sense of well being and cured and healed from a disease. Here cases are the people exposed to Braco's gaze and controls are the people who are not exposed to Braco's gaze. The age, gender, relative health and place of residense of the study participants are standardized and the results in two groups are compared. During statistical analysis, age and gender controls are applied to avoid the effect of confounding factors.

I am predicting there wont be any significant statistical difference between two groups in increased vitality in humans following Braca's gaze.
