Question
On a hot sunny day, a man was jogging for 3 miles through the forest of Yosemite. The man decides to sit down to get a little rest, because of the hard breathing from the lack of oxygen. As the he sits down on a broke tree trunk nearby and places the hand on the trunk, he notice a slight pain on the tip of his finger. He went to see what it was and a splinter had pierced his finger. Explain what the man's body is experiencing as he is jogging through the forest and when a splinter pieced his finger.
Explanation / Answer
The situation of the man when he was Jogging through the forest of Yosemite, he felt a sudden loss of oxygen and to catch his breath he sat down. It is pure form of Hypoxic condition when we see body is deprived of adequate oxygen supply at the tissue level. Basically his would lead the person to stabilize the body and comes back to its normal flow and condition, here the heart beat is increasingly fast. Now we can look into the homeostatic mechanism that every person’s body is having for the maintenance, for that we need to connect this situation with the would that he has suddenly felt from the splinter.
So the body is in a mode of recover and at the same time he is experiencing the wound, here the hypoxic condition greatly impacts the body, to know that we look into more details. The response of the body to the local wound greatly determines by the hypoxic condition of one's body. By the factor in our body named as Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1), it helps regulating the oxygen homeostasis, an important determinant for the process of healing. HIF-1 contributes to all stages of wound healing, it happens through cell migration, cell survival under hypoxic conditions, other process like even through the cell division, growth factor release, throughout the healing process.
Relating to the present condition of the person, the hypoxia of the oxygen deprive condition would ring a blessing to the body and the splinter wound would get healed by positive regulators of HIF-1.
