I am synthesizing 2-aminobenzoyl glycine from ortho-aminobenzoic acid and acetic acid.
I am including the synthesis I prepared - but I'm not sure about protecting the amine group. My main concern is that the amide formed would be reactive to SOCl2.
Also - would H3O+ also hydrolyze the admide in the product back to a carboxylic acid?
