I am not sure how to calculate the last data values in the Table Please help
2.0125 g of salicylic acid were used in the synthesis of aspirin as well as 5 drops of 85% phosphoric acid and 5 mL of acetic anhydride. Moles of salicylic acid=? Initial molarity of salicylic acid= Test of the purity of the synthesized aspirin I am not sure how to calculate the last data values in the Table Please helpExplanation / Answer
we have ,
wt = salicylic acid = 2.0125 gr , 5drops of 85%H3PO4 & 5 ml Acetic anhydride
Mwt of salicylic acid = 138.121
Moles of Salicilic acid = Weight of salicylic acid / Mwt of salicylic acid
= 2.02125 / 138.121
= 0.015
Molarity of Salicylic acid = wt / Mwt * 1000 / v(ml)
= 0.015 * 1000/250
= 0.06 M
