A chemical bond is a attraction between atoms , ions or molecules that enables the formation of chemical bonds. 2 types of bonds- ionic or covalent .
1. Ionic bond -(b)- transfer of electrons from one atom to another. It require at least one electron donor (metal)& one electron acceptor(non- matal). It develops 2 oppositely charged ions. The metal loses electrons to become a +vely charged cations & non - metal accepts electrons to become a -vely charged anions.
2. Covalent bond-(a.) Shairing of electrons between atoms. It occurs between non - metals or between non- metals or metals. eg:- HCl
3. KBr- an electron is transferred from K to Br , resulting in the formation of K+ & Br-, which are held together by electrostatic attraction .
4. (b)- only Li3N- 3Li+ & N3-
